A small LVDS receiver to transform LVDS into TTL signals. The LVDS input signals may be given as 18 bit or 24 bit rates. The output is effected conform to the input signals in 18 or 24 bit. A binary adjustment from 18 to 24 or from 24 to 18 bit will not be carried out. The TTL output always has an 18 bit signal factor. Surplus bits (LSB’s) are not used. There are two connectors ESDCI18 for 18 bit input (I) and 24 bit input(II).
A 20-pin connector (pitch 1.25 mm) transmits the input signals to the board. The converter chip produces a parallel TTL data stream from the LVDS signals compatible to former standard TTL displays. The advantage of the LVDS technology is a significantly low malfunction rate. It also allows an open-door design since the signals can be transmitted by much longer ranges of up to 15 meters. Possibly special cables are required.
So even a modern controller with LVDS on board can be connected to an older display. Please note that this assembly has no scaling function. The dimension of the picture area must be displayed natively by the graphic controller. This has to be programmed and set in the graphic controller.
